Help Raise the Roof in 2018 – Phase 2 on track

Our football team has a bye this week while waiting for the play-in games to be played. Meanwhile, the Pirate volleyball team hosts Cottage Grove Friday night in the first round of the state play-offs.  Go Pirates!

The break in football action gives us the opportunity to update everyone on the great success we have had in fundraising and let Pirates know how close we are to having the required cash on hand to Raise the Roof during the summer of 2018.

Phase 2 Goal $150,000. Let’s Raise the Roof Next Summer. Tom Crabtree is still going after 85 yards, he needs a few more blocks.

Phase 1 was completed in August of 2017. Phase 2 is the actual Raising of the Roof. Summer will be here in eight months and we are pleased to announce that we have paid off Phase 1 and are past the 85% mark for Phase 2.

Our cash goal for Phase 2 is $150,000. We currently have $128,000 in cash and pledges, leaving just $22,000 to go.  Donations have been both large and small.  Ranging from $25 to $10,000 to a $20,000 pledge. See our list of donors, including in-kind donors, here.

If you haven’t joined the Raise the Roof campaign as a donor, we would love to add you to the list of 137 donors.  Here are some reason’s to donate:

  • Join the other 137 donors and get recognized on the donor’s list for any amount donated.
  • Get permanent recognition at the stadium on a plaque with a donation of $100 or more.  Click here for the different levels of recognition.
  • Take part in the Class Challenge for Pete’s players.  The class of 1965 has gone crazy with total donations of over $26,000.  Five other classes have donated over $2,500.
  • Donate an amount equal to the year you graduated. Class of ’46? Donate $46.
  • Make the first donation for the following classes in Pete’s class challenge.  1946, 1947, 1948, 1949, 1952, 1979, 1980 – even if it is just $25.  Get on the scoreboard!
  • Challenge your classmate by matching or passing your classmate(s).  It’s fair game to donate $1 more than your classmate or friend from another class.  Here’s a list of donors year by year for Pete’s classes.
  • Challenge your sibling or join forces with your siblings.  You’ll see donations from families who donated as a team and from siblings who are donating as a competition among siblings – Holtes, Susicks, McNutts, Haliskis and many more
  • In memory of a Pirate or Pirate booster.   Several Pirates have already been  so honored.
  • Your contribution may be tax deductible as the MHS Booster Club is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization.  Consult your tax advisor to determine the deductibility of your support.  If you donate,  you will receive a receipt from the Booster Club.
