Concrete work has begun – setting stage for Raising the Roof

Concrete work began earlier this month for the Raise the Roof project.

  1. Concrete was poured above the upper seats (see photo with rebar) to establish the foundation for the press boxes and viewing rooms.
  2. Concrete was also poured below the upper seating area to help relieve the cramped seating in that section of seats.  A row of seats was removed in the upper seating section, which allowed other rows to be moved to create more legroom and comfort.

Our goal is to complete Phase 2 of the Raise the Roof project by having the roof in place for the start of football season. Next steps are:

  1. Do a final pour of concrete and do masonry work in the back of the stadium to complete the support structure of the roof.
  2. We expect the roof contractor to begin installation of the roof in late July or early August.  Installation should take 10 to 14 days.

Phase 3 includes the addition of an ADA compliant walkway from the Waterfall Clinic parking lot which is located above the stadium to the stadium seats.  Target date for Phase 3 is the summer of 2020.

We’d like to thank all of our donors for your generous contributions so far.  We could not have come so far without you!
